My journey to wellness is an ongoing practice that I mindfully participate in. Wellness to me means living each day making healthy and conscious choices that better my mind, body, and soul. Eating right, exercising, and engaging in life enriching events help me live my life to the fullest.
For me, if I feel as though I am having an off day with a lack of motivation, I always regain my motivation and sense of wellness after teaching ABT barre or taking an ABT barre class.
American Barre Technique rejuvenates my mind, soul, and most clearly my body. Completing this particular barre workout helps me stay grounded, focused, and most importantly healthy. After I teach an ABT barre class, I feel unstoppable, and that is why teaching barre has become my secret ingredient to wellness success. I have never been more in tune with my body until I started teaching ABT barre. It truly has changed my life in more ways that I have ever imagined. As my journey to wellness continues, I hope I turn on a light in others to help find your motivation and guidance towards a healthier and happier life.
Many times I hear from other gym goers, “Why do you love barre so much?” My response is always the same, “It’s the only workout that gives me everything I need.” And that’s the truth. Ever since I began teaching American Barre Technique, my physique has remained in tip-top shape, my health reports are stellar, and I have not experienced any fitness-related injuries. Getting in shape and staying in shape does not require rocket science, it requires barre.
When I teach American Barre Technique, I not only get to help others improve their health, I also get to maintain and improve mine. To me it is mind blowing that I get paid to workout, which is another reason why I love teaching fitness. Fitness is sometimes seen as a chore, something one “has to do” to get in shape or improve overall health. With exercise workouts like American Barre Technique, fitness no longer is a chore, but rather a desired exercise class to attend or in other words a “happy hour at the barre.”
If you haven’t tried barre because you are worried it will be too difficult, too easy, or whatever the excuse may be, give it a go! You will not regret it. It’s the most addictive workout, and I’m sure you’ll get hooked. See you at the barre!
Become a Barre Teacher | ABT Official Online Barre CertificationIt was always hard for me to thoroughly enjoy working out until I discovered Barre. The very first barre workout I took was the Ballet Body DVD. The workout was challenging, yet doable for me, and I couldn’t believe how fast my body responded to the exercises. I was never one to have a “toned” or “sculpted” look until I did the barre workout regularly. I became more interested in taking barre classes in my home town (and finally felt confident enough to venture out) so I visited my local gym and started taking barre classes there.
It didn’t take long for me to realize how obsessed I had become with barre. My barre teacher at the time approached me and asked if I had ever considered teaching a class or too, since I loved it so much. That thought hadn’t crossed my mind until that moment. Then I had my “aha” moment. I knew that teaching barre was my calling and that I should follow my heart doing what I truly love. I was so excited to start this journey in becoming a certified barre instructor, but didn’t know how to make it a reality. I met with my barre teacher to get some advice from her (she’s an incredible instructor.) She recommended me to get barre certified by American Barre Technique, that’s who she got certified by, and said I will be able to teach as soon as I complete their online barre teacher training course.
As soon as I got home from our meeting I enrolled with American Barre Technique right away. The online barre certification was perfect for me, I was able to complete it in my spare time and at my own pace. I got barre certified fairly quickly and got hired immediately at the gym. I invited my friends and family to start taking my classes and they all got hooked on barre! Fast forward to now, my barre classes are always packed and I’m still loving the workout and its body benefits. I followed my heart and now I get to do what I love every day. If you haven’t taken the leap of faith I suggest doing it. This is your life, you’ve only got one so live it the way you’ve dreamed.
I decided I wanted to become a certified barre instructor after I realized how obsessed I was with taking barre at my local gym. I grew up dancing, was an avid fitness goer, so I thought it would be a perfect side hustle for me. I asked the barre teacher at the gym where she got certified, where she suggests getting barre certified, and how long it takes. She went through American Barre Technique and highly recommended them.
I chose American Barre Technique because it was really convenient to complete the entire course from home and at my own pace. The American Barre Technique online barre certification was perfect for me and I felt overly prepared to start teaching. As soon as I passed the certification, I got hired at my gym to teach barre and started teaching within one week of getting barre certified. Since the day I started teaching barre to now my classes have been packed full and it is the best feeling in the world. I absolutely love teaching barre and highly recommend anyone who wants to teach barre to go through American Barre Technique.
Cross training is a highly effective technique used to improve specific aspects of physical performance in athletes at both amateur and professional levels. The type of cross training chosen for the particular athlete, caters to the goals need to be met for their sport. For instance, a basketball player cross trains with swimming laps to build stamina, so once on the court, he or she can last ninety plus minutes with ease. Do athletes that cross train perform better than those who do not? Yes. From The Active Times, […] “all athletes should be cross-training.”
What type of cross training is right for you?
There are two different forms of cross training;
1. Cardio based
2. Weight-training based
Whether your sport is soccer, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, golf, tennis, ballet, etc, you must pin point the area of weakness that needs improvement. This might be a drill that needs improvement, or a center of gravity issue with your abdominals to improve a swing.
What do you do if you want to improve overall performance?
Whatever the area of improvement may be; increasing endurance or improving the body’s ROM (range of motion), American Barre Technique® is your ideal form of cross training. ABTbarre is ballet inspired aerobics™, a low impact yet challenging workout for both men and women alike. Football players have caught on to the cross training effect of ballet and other sports are beginning to catch on. According to Men’s Health, “Cross-training approaches are also becoming more and more popular in the military, NFL and NBA.” Small staccato actions are performed to work deep into muscles that help with stability, agility, and proper restorative muscle strengthening. Balletic-like movements are repeated in the technique to improve endurance, increase flexibility (ROM), assist in improving balance, and core strength. Watch your overall performance improve with American Barre Technique®. When your overall performance improves and your ranks have skyrocketed, thank your secret weapon, American Barre Technique®
