Finding My Dream Job As A Barre Instructor

The very first barre workout I took was the Ballet Body DVD. The workout was challenging, yet doable for me, and I couldn’t believe how fast my body responded to the exercises. I was never one to have a “toned” or “sculpted” look until I did the barre workout regularly. I became more interested in taking barre classes in my home town (and finally felt confident enough to venture out) so I visited my local gym and started taking barre classes there.

It didn’t take long for me to realize how obsessed I had become with barre. My barre teacher at the time approached me and asked if I had ever considered teaching a class or too, since I loved it so much. That thought hadn’t crossed my mind until that moment. Then I had my “aha” moment. I knew that teaching barre was my calling and that I should follow my heart doing what I truly love. I was so excited to start this journey in becoming a certified barre instructor, but didn’t know how to make it a reality. I met with my barre teacher to get some advice from her (she’s an incredible instructor.) She recommended me to get barre certified by American Barre Technique, that’s who she got certified by, and said I will be able to teach as soon as I complete their online barre teacher training course.

As soon as I got home from our meeting I enrolled with American Barre Technique right away. The online barre certification was perfect for me, I was able to complete it in my spare time and at my own pace. I got barre certified fairly quickly and got hired immediately at the gym. I invited my friends and family to start taking my classes and they all got hooked on barre! Fast forward to now, my barre classes are always packed and I’m still loving the workout and its body benefits. I followed my heart and now I get to do what I love every day. I decided I wanted to become a certified barre instructor after I realized how obsessed I was with taking barre at my local gym. I grew up dancing, was an avid fitness goer, so I thought it would be a perfect side hustle for me. I asked the barre teacher at the gym where she got certified, where she suggests getting barre certified, and how long it takes. She went through American Barre Technique and highly recommended them.

I chose American Barre Technique because it was really convenient to complete the entire course from home and at my own pace. The American Barre Technique online barre certification was perfect for me and I felt overly prepared to start teaching. As soon as I passed the certification, I got hired at my gym to teach barre and started teaching within one week of getting barre certified. Since the day I started teaching barre to now my classes have been packed full and it is the best feeling in the world.
